The latest addition to HCPF 2022: UB40 ft Ali Campbell
We are so proud to have a lineup of world class headliners bringing you an array of genres across the duration of the festival. Our latest lineup addition: UB40, is fuelled by the classic reggae spirit, fronted by founding member Ali Campbell.
Ali left the original band in 2008 then reunited with Astro when he left the original band in 2013. Ali and Astro took the world by storm, captivating audiences everywhere they went, releasing three new albums together reaching number 2 in the UK charts. Heartbreakingly, Astro passed away after a very short illness in November 2021 after they’d finished their incredible fourth album – Unprecedented.
With Ali now part of a ten-piece touring band, UB40 are now ready to add tracks from Unprecedented to a formidable live set that contains material spanning over four decades. As well as favourites such as ‘Red Red Wine’, they have reintroduced some older tracks that have taken on a renewed significance. Among these are 1979’s ‘King’, inspired by the legacy of American Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King, and 1997’s ‘Guns In the Ghetto’.
Providing a set list which everyone can get up, sing and dance to, we expect UB40 to take Base Court by storm this summer!
